Ray Smith & Rhys Gaetano 
All in if You Are

Entrance is pleased to present All in if You Are, a two-person exhibition of works by artists Rhys Gaetano and Ray Smith.

In Smith’s near-monumental sized compositions, organically shaped drips of paint pool at the center of sleek mirror surfaces. In a recent series of paintings, Gaetano depicts poignantly mundane subject matter–canned sardines, lipstick, and a turtle– whose distilled forms are articulated through curved steel and richly textured swirls of blooming poured encaustic beeswax. Gaetano’s wax paintings, like his radio-playing disco ball crafted from circular pieces of mirrored glass affixed to a foam orb, refract off of Ray Smith’s suite of paintings, and similarly reflect a shared affinity for materiality and process.
