Forest Cosmos

Forest Cosmos is a family of prints, paintings, sculptures and furniture. They are meditations on how the natural world echoes across the microscopic and cosmic. Following the concentric rings of old growth pine trees, lines drawn by hairs, the skin of an apple, and the wandering of eyes, Shannon excavates and collaborates with phenomenon sampled from nature, to create a deeper understanding between the visible and invisible world which we are a part of.
Jack Shannon (b. 1992 New York, NY), is an artist based in New York City. In 2017 he co-founded Entrance with his brother Louis before returning to his own art practice. Shannon lead a collaborative printmaking residency in Entrance's studio, focusing on making monotypes with his artist peers. Shannon subsequently curated Monotypes With Friends in 2018 and Two Stories in 2019, pairing prints produced by the artists in the residency alongside their own original works, in painting, sculpture, and photography. Forest Cosmos is Shannon’s debut solo show.
