Ethan Means and
Ethan Kramer
Yes Way

May 25th - June 4th, 2023

Yes Way debuts the work of Ethan Means and Ethan Kramer. Means works in oil, mixing more traditional techniques of landscape oil painting with superimposed elements of abstraction. Kramer works in acrylic and his subject matter is more fully abstract. It’s in the spirit of contemporary painters such as Amy Sillman, who he studied under.

They both studied painting at Cooper Union. Means recently graduated and Kramer has one more semester. They had neighboring studio spaces at Cooper and influenced each other’s work. Some works clearly belong to one or the other, but the line is blurred in others. They also hung the works in non-standard ways made various sculptural additions to the show.
